A definition of resourcefulness would be “having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties” (Oxforddictionaries.com, 2014). In other words, it means bringing elements together.
On the other hand, being “positive” means having a good state of mind and being enthusiastic, believing that good things will happen even under not-so-bright circumstances.
Moreover, as a well known leader and spiritual teacher stated (Dalai Lama): “In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision.”
According to an article written by Annette Lynch “Resourceful Thinking Vs Positive Thinking”, the two elements above can be best linked together, by approaching the subject of development. Instead of using the word ‘positive’, Annette likes to think of it as ‘resourceful’ thinking (EzineArticles, 2014).This type of thinking taps into internal resources, establishing many challenges and what life throws at you. Furthermore, resourceful thinking represents a solution of turning negative thinking into positive and finding methods to make your life easier and more enjoyable. In addition, it is a way to improve one’s abilities and further develop as an individual.
My opinion on this specific topic is that being positive and resourceful can be perfectly linked together. There are two concise ways of saying it:
- Be motivated to continue research and achieve your goal in any situation
- Being positive in finding resources is being able to strive to achieve your purpose, even when motivation levels are low.
In essence, all elements above link back to a mental state on mind, but similarly can be an element to continue and to never back down .
